Before Freebreath became modernized, before there were ever any technology, it used to be a vast plain home to several tribes: Salamander, Hyena, Eagle, Lion, Bear, Rhinoceros, and Wildebeest. These tribes were named after their guardian animal and boasted traits specific to them.
1. Salamander: They were known for their speed and sturdiness, able to withstand heat and how to save food. They were good horsemen and were fast hunters. In modern times, these skills have transferred over as being good vehicle drivers and members known for their survival skills.
2. Hyena: A tribe known for its arts, knowledge, and love for entertainment the Hyena tribe were scavengers over hunters. They remained neutral in most tribe conflicts. In Freebreath, they are best as chefs, entertainers, and scholars though in the tribe wars they are best at information gathering, oftentimes acting as freelance spies.
3. Eagle: This tribe was expert bowmen, hunting from afar with bows and never missing their mark. In the modern wars they are vicious snipers who shoot down their enemy. They have no quarrel with any other tribe, but recent attacks has forced them into the war.
4. Lion: The largest and mightiest of the tribes, the Lion tribe often was head of the tribe leader gatherings. Strong and powerful, they were ferocious hunters. Modern times has them as strong people who fight with anything on hand, hand to hand if necessary, and in the lead of the tribe wars.
5. Bear: Formed of towering tribe members, the Bear tribe stayed around rivers and fished. Their strengths lie in their ability to counter enemy attacks and turn it against them. Second strongest, they have been at war with the Lion tribe for who would be leader. Freebreath has them now as the "police" of the town, keeping order unless the Lion Tribe provokes them.
6. Rhinoceros: Ancient times had them as farmers and heavily armored warriors. They are slow, but have a practically impenetrable defense when attacked. Now, in modern times, they have become skilled arms dealers and burly guards. In the tribe wars, they fight with their bare fists and heavy body.
Wildebeest: Ancient Freebreath showed them as innovative thinkers, often making new things. They were at the head of weapons technology and often were at odds with the other tribes for their out of the box thinking. Modern Freebreath has morphed them into skilled Mechanics and weapons makers, often working alongside the Salamander tribe.
